Cristiano Ronaldo made his frustrations known as he lashed out angrily at water bottles on the touchline following Al-Nassr’s loss on Thursday.
Nassr, chasing a first Saudi Pro league title in four years were beaten 1-0 by their closest challengers. Romarinho, the former Al Jazira striker, scored the only goal in the match 10 minutes from time.
This is the first defeat for Ronaldo in the league since joining in late December and also Nassr’s first in 18 top-flight matches. This made the Riyadh side down in the point table to second, single point behind Ittihad with 10 more rounds remaining.
Ronaldo did a glorious save from Ittihad goalkeeper but couldn’t succeed to score for the second successive match. He was really upset all over the match and struggled to make any impact eventhough teammates tried to calm him down.
Ronaldo, later tweeted: “Disappointed with the result, but we stay focused on our season and the games ahead. Thank you Al Nassr fans for your support, we know we can count on you!”
When the full-time whistle was blown, Portugal captain’s first league defeat at Al-Nassr was confirmed.
