Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President, expresses his sorrow over the death of his brother, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Representative of the Abu Dhabi Ruler, who passed away on Thursday.

The obituary released by the Presidential Court reads as follows:

“Under the guidance of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful… With unwavering devotion to God’s will and fate, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan grieves the loss of his late brother, H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who served as the Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and passed away today.”

Sheikh Saeed, who was born in Al Ain in 1965, obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science from UAE University in 1988. Upon completing his studies, he was appointed as the Undersecretary of the Department of Planning in Abu Dhabi. From 1991 to 1996, he held the position of Chairman at the Department of Seaports.

Additionally, he served as a delegate for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, conducting various official international trips. From 2002 to 2003, he assumed the role of President at the UAE Football Association.

He also had a crucial involvement in multiple significant development initiatives in the UAE. Furthermore, he held positions on the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED), and served as the Chairman of the Al Wahda Sports Club.
